Last week’s appointment of Jean-Paul Sanchez, previously Vodafone’s global business development manager, to head up Fox Interactive’s mobile strategy in Europe has sparked reports that MySpace is preparing to expand onto the European mobile scene.

Sanchez is understood to be already discussing distribution details with European service providers, to put MySpace – owned by Fox parent, News Corp. – on to mobile phones.

MySpace is already available to US users on the Helio MVNO network and the company announced plans to introduce the service in Japan through a partnership with Softbank earlier this month.
