EE is introducing the UK's first 4G PAYG plans

UK operator EE has launched the country’s first pay as you go (PAYG) 4G tariff.

The operator said that 40 per cent of mobile users in the UK want PAYG plans and that all 4G handsets currently available to pay monthly customers will be available on prepay, starting with the Alcatel One Touch Idol S device, priced from £129.99.

A range of 30 day bundles, from 100MB to 10GB, and text and call options will be available. Customers who take out a data bundle greater than 2GB will benefit from EE’s fastest 4G speeds as standard, the operator said.

In addition, until January 31, 2014 every customer who buys a 4G PAYG handset form EE directly will receive an additional, one off, 10GB of mobile data for free.

EE will also launch a Christmas PAYG promotion. Until January 31, all PAYG customers can receive 2014 free minute  to use throughout the whole of 2014.
