Slovanet selects Intracom Telecom’s Point-to-Multipoint WiBAS™-OSDR to modernize its network

Athens, Greece –  13 October2015 – Intracom Telecom, a global telecommunications systems vendor, announced the signing of an agreement with Slovanet, one of the largest telecommunication companies and fixed line operator in Slovakia, to supply its latest Point-to-Multipoint wireless system, WiBAS™-OSDR expanding the network of European clients using company’s radio products.

Slovanet’s decision to select WiBAS™-OSDR for its rapid infrastructure replacement program, came following a field trial and an international tender. The revamped network is taking advantage of the system’s unrivalled capabilities, such as the highest capacity in the industry and the competitive cost per Mbit. Furthermore, the market leading 1024QAM modulation of WiBAS™-OSDR system apart from maximum sector capacity optimizes the utilization of radio resources. The system’s advanced networking features enable offering of Carrier Class service provisioning for demanding broadband data applications.

WiBAS™-OSDR will be used in Slovanet’s ambitious network modernization program in the licensed 10.5 GHz band including investments in new sites, aiming to provide superior services to its existing and future customer base. Through WiBAS™-OSDR, Slovanet decreases annual spending on fees for operating frequencies, reduce the expenses for site rental and enhance its network coverage. In phase one, the upgraded network is available in the cities of Banska Bystrica, Bratislava, Kosice, Lucenec, Presov, Roznava, Senica, Skalica, Trebisov, Trencin, Zvolen and Zilina. The network is dedicated to broadband internet and advanced telephony services for business customers.
