Jeni Mundy, chief technical officer, Vodafone UK

There aren’t many female operator CTOs in the industry, and Jeni Mundy, who heads up Vodafone UK’s technical team, may well be the most high profile.

Mundy emigrated from the UK to New Zealand in 1994 with a master’s in electronic engineering and began her telecoms career with Bellsouth, which was later to become Vodafone New Zealand, as an RF engineer. By 2001 she was heading up the technology team at Vodafone New Zealand (the UK carrier bought up Bellsouth in 1998). She moved to the UK CTO position in 2007.
