Italy’s Prysmian Group has won a contract with Telecom Argentina to supply and install an optical network that will provide the passive infrastructure for the first part of its new fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network.
Telecom Italia has announced it is to sell 17% stake of its subsidiary, Telecom Argentina to New York-based investor firm Fintech. The Italian incumbent said it plans to sell Telecom Argentina’s holding company Sofora’s entire shareholding to Fintech once it has received regulatory approval from the Argentinian regulator SECOM.
Telecom Argentina has appointed a new CEO in Stefano De Angelis. He replaces Franco Bertone, who has held the role since 2009, and will take on other responsibilities within the Telecom Italia Group, the firm said.
