The LTE connected car

At the LTE World Summit, held at the Okura hotel in Amsterdam recently, telecoms.com got to spend ten minutes sitting in an LTE connected car. The proof of concept device is made by Toyota with LTE gadgetry provided by Alcatel-Lucent.
It’s a little bit like KITT from Knight Rider, without the turbo boost, ejector seat, or the ability to talk, although it does talk to the cloud quite a lot – sending out information about its environment and contributing to a reporting sytem geared towards information about traffic conditions and weather among other things.
