LG Revolution LTE smartphone arrives on Verizon Wireless
The limited roster of LTE enabled smartphones worldwide was boosted yesterday by the arrival of the LG Revolution on Verizon Wireless in the US. The operator said that the device, which is now available online and in stores, will deliver download speeds between 5 and 12Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5Mbps, in areas covered by its LTE network.
Winners toast success at Informa LTE Awards 2011
The 2011 Informa LTE Awards winners were announced on Tuesday night at a gala event that was part of the LTE World Summit in Amsterdam, where the winners were finally announced to the industry. The ceremony, held at the spectacular De Duif in Amsterdam and compered by BBC television sports journalist Rob Bonnet, saw eight companies recognised for their achievements across ten categories. There were 49 nominations.
Setting the Standards
The LTE Award for Best Contribution to LTE Standards is the only honour in the LTE World Summit Awards that is awarded to an individual. It recognises vital contribution at the most fundamental level of the technology and this year three veterans of the industry are competing for this prestigious accolade.
