At CES 2012 Acer unveiled its plans for a new cloud-based service called ‘AcerCloud’ to help them develop a relationship with the consumers that purchase Acer’s electronic devices.
The latest version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, Windows Phone, ripened this week. Mango, as it is known, adds more than 500 new features, including threads which switch between text, Facebook and Windows Live Messenger within the same conversation; the ability to group contacts into personalized Live Tiles; as well as deeper social network integration.

Google’s move into the desktop operating system environment was completed Wednesday with the launch of its much anticipated Chromebook device, which is to be manufactured by Acer and Samsung. In a throwback to the days of the dumb terminal, the device is essentially a portal to cloud-based applications and services, all accessed through the Chrome browser.

Device manufacturer Acer has unveiled a range of Android-powered goodies to be launched next year and screen size is definitely at the top of the company’s importance list.

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Acer has confirmed plans to launch a range of smartphones based on the Android platform in the fourth quarter of this year.
