Vodafone and Sony NetServices launch new music service
09 January 2006
The Vodafone Group and Sony NetServices announced today a partnership to deploy worldwide what they claim is the world's first fully convergent music service, Vodafone Radio DJ. The service will offer interactive, personalized radio channels streamed to UMTS handsets and PCs.
Subscribers can access streamed radio channels, bespoke collections, and channels defined by themselves. The personalization tool enables subscribers to 'train' pre programmed radio channels to their own personal tastes by pressing a button to indicate whether they like or dislike a song.
The offering will have a monthly subscription for unlimited listening to music on both mobile and PC, with no extra data charges, Vodafone Radio DJ will be launched in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain in the coming months, and a further 20 countries over the next year.
