Orange offers Visa mobile prepaid accounts in Africa
The carrier is offering Orange Money subscribers in the region applications such as person to person transfers, bill payments, and agent-based cash-in and cash-out services for loading or withdrawing funds.
Payment processing firm Visa Europe has introduced a service allowing consumers to make mobile payments across the region immediately and using any European currency. Meanwhile in India, popular money transfer and payment service M-Pesa has now been fully launched.
The UK’s communications regulator Ofcom has revealed the telcos with the worst customer experience ratings in the country, with Orange generating the most complaints for broadband in the fourth quarter of 2012 and BT receiving the most pay-TV complaints.

The African arm of Indian operator Bharti Airtel has begun deployment of HD voice services, beginning in Rwanda, Kenya and Malawi. The firm said that these deployments are the “first step” in its ambition to roll the technology out across its entire African footprint.
