Huawei and Batelco have signed an MoU

Bahraini operator group Batelco has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Chinese  vendor Huawei. The MoU will see the two companies deepen their strategic alliance in developing future projects within Bahrain and globally.

Huawei and Batelco have collaborated for the past decade, the vendor said, including on network deployment, high speed internet broadband and the release of several Huawei consumer devices over the past year.

Today Bahrain is one of Huawei’s most important strategic markets within the Middle East region, the Chinese firm said, adding that it is home to Huawei’s regional headquarters as well as the company’s first ever Middle East IT Competence Center, which was opened in early 2013 to support the advancement of Bahrain’s IT and telecommunications industry.

“Huawei has been a key partner in providing Batelco with innovative telecommunications solutions over the past few years and we appreciate their invaluable contribution towards our successful delivery of key services for our customers,” said Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, chairman of Batelco.
