Ooredoo has inked a content deal with Walt Disney Entertainment

Qatari operator group Ooredoo has signed a deal with Walt Disney Middle East and North Africa to bring the latter’s content to Ooredoo customers on smart devices.

Under the deal, Ooredoo’s Mozaic TV service customers will be able to access Disney Movies on Demand, Disney Channels on Demand and ABC TV on Demand via the Video-on-Demand services.

The multi-screen agreement will enable customers to access the content via iPads, iPhones and PCs, as well as their home television. The services are due to launch in Qatar later this year.

Chief operating officer Waleed Al Sayed said: “Disney is a brand that is known and loved all around the world by children and families, and we are delighted to be able to offer such a range of fantastic family entertainment directly to our customers.”

Ooredoo added that as its fibre network continues to roll-out across Qatar, more homes are being upgraded to Ooredoo Fibre, so that customers are able to subscribe or upgrade to its Mozaic TV service.
